On Nov 23, 2016, USA Today reported its list of bestselling titles for the week of Nov 20, with a fiction ebook boxset co-authored in part by local author, Stacy Eaton, placed at number 33.
The title of the collection, Wicked Legends, contains a mix of genres that are slightly darker than the regular genre offerings by authors with eclectic styles. With titles that include Garda ~ Welcome to the Realm by Stacy Eaton, the box set is a blend of Urban Fantasy, Science Fiction, Paranormal Romance, and Dystopian novels. While the set is in ebook format only, it sold in excess of 15,000 copies during its release week, putting Eaton and its co-authors in a spot much coveted by traditional paperback authors.
?Being a USA Today Best Selling author has been a dream of mine for years,? Eaton says. ?I have watched many of my friends achieve their dreams to obtain the title, and I?m thrilled to finally be part of that elite group. It if wasn?t for the support of my online authors, friends and readers in social media, I doubt I would have gotten to where I am today.?
Social media played a huge hand in boosting the set?s visibility and sales. The authors used Facebook parties, Twitter and Instagram posts to tempt readers to buy. Eaton stated that the team of 24 authors, along with their assistants and their devout readers, has been hard at work promoting this set for over a month.
Eaton began her writing career in 2010, publishing her first book, My Blood Runs Blue, with the help of Outskirts Press in April 2011. She soon began to self-publish her titles and to date has sixteen single titles published with two more releasing in December, and fourteen books slated to release in 2017. Eaton writes in the following genres: Paranormal Romance, Romantic Suspense, Contemporary Romance and Women?s Fiction. Her title, You?re Not Alone, which deals with domestic violence, was even dedicated to the Chester County Domestic Violence Center.
