Sunday Coffee Time Chat with Author Andrea Buginsky

Welcome to Sunday morning Coffee Chat time!

Today’s guest is Andrea Buginsky!

Welcome Andrea!!! So excited to have you here visiting my site!? It’s been a long time since I interviewed any authors on my website – and you are the first one in a long line of great authors coming up!? Say hello to my readers and let’s jump into your coffee time interview!

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be joining Stacy for coffee today, and introducing myself to all of her wonderful readers.

Since we are Sunday’s Coffee Time Chat – which do you prefer?

Coffee please, with French Vanilla creamer. Thank you.

A lady after my own heart! You got it!? So while I’m pouring the coffee, tell us a little bit about yourself. We know you?re an author, but do you work another job when you are not writing?

I?m also a freelance writer. I write web copy for different companies.

Really? I didn’t know that, that’s pretty cool! So what is your favorite thing to do when you aren?t writing or working?

Watching TV and movies. I?m a huge couch potato.

lol… I think we all like to do that once in a while, what is your favorite color?

Pink has always been my favorite color. I?m not really sure why, it?s just always made me smile. Lately, I?ve also really loved purple.

I’m a purple girl myself!? What is your favorite season?

Spring and fall are tied. I like when it?s not too hot or too cold. I love to be able to open my windows and let the fresh air and crisp breeze in. I also love the colors of the leaves in the fall. I moved from Florida to Kansas last year, so it was the first time in over 30 years I saw the seasons change. Love it!

Wow – in 30 years! That must have been wonderful to view for the first time. Personally, I would have wanted to stay in Florida, lol… If you could live anyplace on earth, where would it be and why?

I would love to live in Hawaii. It looks so beautiful and peaceful there. I also love the beach, so it would be the perfect place for me, I believe.

Oh it’s beautiful – and so very expensive. I lived there for a short time. Other than writing, what do you have a passion for?

Movies. My family calls me the walking TV guide. If you have a question about movies, television, actors, etc., I can probably answer it for you.

lol.. That’s great – okay, let’s talk about your writing now. How long have your been writing? Was it a dream, a goal or is it just a hobby?

Wow, I?m not really sure. I always loved writing in school from the time I was a kid. It didn?t become a career decision until near the end of my sophomore year at college, though. I decided to go into journalism. After earning my BA degree, I started freelance writing. Then, I decided I wanted to write a book. I tried an adult romance novel, but it didn?t really work. I decided to write YA instead, and it really clicked.

You have to do with what clicks! Glad YA is working out for you. How many hours a day do you devote to writing?

I don?t have a schedule. I know most writers do, and I usually feel strange answering this question. But I write when I feel up to it, and for however long I feel up to it. Being disabled (I have a heart condition), I have to work when I feel well enough to do so.

Of course, there are plenty of times I don?t do it out of laziness, and I have to sit my butt in the chair and just start. Once I get started, I?m usually good to go for a while.

I have known about your disability, but I know it does not hold you back!? Do you have a set routine or do you write when the mood strikes?

Definitely when the mood strikes.

Is there some place special you like to be when you write?

I?m most comfortable at my desk, in front of my PC.

Do you listen to music or do you need a quiet place to write?

I like to listen to music playing softly in the background. I love Forever Your Girl Radio on Pandora. It plays all of my faves from the ?80s and ?90s

Oh – I didn’t know about that one – I’ll have to check out that channel!? So, let’s get to the good stuff. Let’s talk about your book!? What is the name of it and is it part of a series or a stand alone novel?

My latest release is Nature?s Unbalance: The Chosen Series, Book Two. It?s the second book in The Chosen series. I actually re-released it with a beautiful brand-new cover, completely reedited, and updated.

That is awesome! I love seeing covers!? Where did the idea come from??

The idea for the series came from a role-playing game I played with my family a few years ago. I used our characters, and developed a world for them to live in, and adventures for them to go on.

That’s cool! What is it about?

In Nature?s Unbalance, the group must decipher what is happening in their world when Nature suddenly goes completely off balance. Nature is actually a character, and they must find her and save her, before their world, Phantasma, is completely destroyed.

Sounds very creative and very cool! Do you have any upcoming projects in the works or other books that have been published?

Yes. I am currently going through a third round of edits of the third book in The Chosen series.

I?m also writing the first draft of the second book in my other series, New Avalon. Book one, Destiny, was published in September. This series is about a group of teen girls who learn they are descendants of the Lady of the Lake from King Arthur legends. They attend a very special school, New Avalon, to learn more about what this means for them, and their futures.

In addition to the two series, I have a stand-alone book: My Open Heart, my autobiography about growing up with heart disease. I wrote it for other adolescents growing up with heart disease or other chronic conditions, as well as parents of children with chronic conditions. I want my book to be something to encourage them and help them through tough times.

Andrea – that just gave me chills!? Thank you so much for doing that. I personally know how hard it is to write about what we have gone through in our life. I’m so proud of you for doing that and I am sure you have helped and will continued to help many people!

Thank you so much for joining us today and telling us about yourself and your books!
